The Icy Strait Lodge is open year-round and is located in a small town called Hoonah. Hoonah is tucked away in a small corner on a remote island known as Chichagof Island. Chichagof is the 3rd largest island in Alaska and is home to a vast amount of coastal brown bears.
The waterside of the lodge has a southern exposure where three waterways converge on a constantly changing tidal flat. This natural beauty and the abundance of wildlife make the area a “Nature Theater” that never fails to impress.
Since 2000, we have been helping guests discover the wonders of Chichagoff Island while providing them with all the comforts of home.
Our goal is to offer Hoonah Homestyle Hospitality at the friendliest lodge in Alaska. We invite you to come and experience it for yourself.
